This unit introduces the student to the basic knowledge and skills in audio editing techniques that enables him to produce radio programs for broadcasting. 

 

The course is intended to introduce students to the techniques necessary for Radio News Production.  The course aims at imparting the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable the learner produce radio news and other programs.  The students will be expected to learn sources of news as well as news gathering and reporting techniques. The students will learn types of news and write news for Radio.  Further the student will learn about the different news presentation techniques, news interviews and ethical and legal issues in news writing.

This is an introductory course to the concepts behind mass media communication. This Unit explores successful communication strategies and develops the theoretical foundation needed to understand mass media communication. It equips the student with the competence to use various media to communicate effectively.
